1964 Evinrude Big Twin 40 Water Pump Replacement

Here I go through the procedure on how to replace the water pump on the "old skool" evinrudes, amazing motors IMO. This motor was purchased from a super nice 70 year old man named Mel here in Ottawa, i'm going to put an electric start on his snowblower for him. Anyways I posted to his add on the web and he and I had a conversation. A visit to his house and my buddy Jay now owns 2 40 HP Big twins (1 parts motor) a spare starter and a metal OMC tank for 0. The good 40 had no spark although Mel told us it had new points, condensors and coils. After getting it back home we discovered that one of the coil wires was pulled out, both points were oxidized and not set to .020. Once everything was done it fired up but no water was flowing from the exhaust tube, time for a water pump.
